Living and working in the South Downs National Park in the South East of England, the rolling downland hills and geometric farm patterns are my constant inspiration throughout the changing seasons.
I trained at West Sussex College of Art and Design 1977-1981. After a 40 year career in graphic design organising the visual spaces of the page, my aim is now to employ the qualities of paint in organising colour and form to depict the natural world recalling memories we have of places and seasons.
My work often results from the act of passing through the landscape on footpaths, moving toward what lies ahead, glimpsed between trees or what may be discovered round the next bend or over the hilltop.
“I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation.”
C. S. Lewis
